Founded in 1978, R.P. Cautela Realty, Inc. has been located in the Village of Rhinebeck for the past 24 years. The firm's main office is in the historic 1863 Beekman Arms Firehouse at 18 West Market Street, Rhinebeck.

Ralph P. Cautela, founder and president, is a licensed Real Estate Broker and consultant. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz and former director of Real Estate for the City of Poughkeepsie, Cautela has taken appraisal, finance, taxation, and Real Estate courses from a number of higher educational institutions such as New York University, Michigan State University and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Cautela is certified by the NYS Dept. of State as an approved instructor for Real Estate Qualifying & Continuing Education Courses. Over the years he has been extensively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations.

Cautela was President of the Dutchess County Association of Realtors in 1997. Prior to that, he was Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President. In addition to his affiliation with the county association, he is also a member of the New York State and the National Association of Realtors. Cautela was on the Board of Directors of the Dutchess County Association of Realtors for 2004. Cautela returned as an at large director for DCAR from 2004 through 2006. He served as a member of the Grievance Committee for the Association for many years. In 2007, Cautela was appointed to the Professional Standards Committee for Dutchess County.

Mr. Cautela has served as a Real Estate and Planning consultant to the City of Poughkeepsie on a number of large-scale development projects, as well as providing similar consulting services to various private corporate and institutional clients throughout the Mid-Hudson area.
